Basics

Basics
The initial construction phase of the South Tahoe Greenway Shared Use Trail (Greenway), Phase 1a, extends 0.42 miles between Herbert Avenue and Glenwood Way in the heart of the Bijou neighborhood in South Lake Tahoe. Preliminary planning refinements began in 2012 and initial construction occurred in 2015. In 2017 additional project drainage infrastructure was constructed. The next implementation phase of the Greenway, Phases 1b&2, will extend the trail connection south to the Sierra Tract and is described as a separate EIP project.

12/06/2018 2:09 PM Scott Cecchi In 2017 additional drainage work was completed in the vicinity of the Becka and Glenwood intersection. 2017 expenditures were limited to engineering. The construction contract was paid for in 2018, and thus reported as 2018 expenditures.
12/06/2018 2:06 PM Scott Cecchi 2018 expenditures = $148,069 (for work done in 2017 for the additional drainage project.
11/20/2017 8:50 AM Scott Cecchi The 2016-2017 Water Year (October 1st – September 30th) was one of the wettest years on record for the northern Sierra. Heavy precipitation events during the 2016-2017 Water Year emphasized the need for additional Project drainage improvements in the vicinity of the Glenwood Way and Becka Avenue intersection.
01/27/2016 3:31 PM Sue Rae Irelan The Greenway project has been split into phases for implementation. Costs associated with the planning phase of the Greenway 1a project are shown in the Greenway Planning and Future Phases project. Final designs for Phase 1a created a 0.42 mile trail. The performance measure shown in 2009 was expected benefits.
10/30/2014 10:26 AM Jeanne McNamara Full amount of trail was reported as completed in 2009 although it was not constructed. Subsequent reporting should only report miles of trail in excess of what was already reported in 2009.
06/11/2014 3:19 PM Jeanne McNamara Final plans for Phase 1a almost complete (0.47 miles of trail). Construction of this phase in 2014.
