01/12/2024 2:37 PM | Jennifer Marshall | 2023 Update: • Project was officially kicked off in September with the District’s design consulting team. Kickoff meeting included a site visit with USFS LTBMU to discuss coordination between Baldwin Beach gravity sewer realignment and the Taylor-Tallac Creek Restoration Project. • Condition assessment of the Baldwin Beach Sewer Pump Station completed in October 2023; confirmed that structure and wet well are in good shape – PS will be rehabilitated. • 30% drawings and draft specification TOC for gravity sewer realignment and sewer force main slip lining was submitted to District for review in late November. • District and LTBMU reviewed 30% drawings and provided comments back to design consultant in December. • Design progressing to 60%, including Baldwin Beach pump station rehab. •A portion of the existing Baldwin Beach gravity sewer main traverses sensitive areas, including Baldwin Beach and a series of lake-influenced swales between Tallac Creek and Taylor Creek. This project proposes to realign the sewer main to be situated along the compacted road shoulder within the road prism of Baldwin Beach Road; therefore, abandoning approximately 2,200 LF of sewer main and seven (7) sewer manholes located in sensitive areas. The project would increase the District’s ability to service the sewer main and remove potential hazards from an environmentally sensitive area. |
