Overview

Basics

Basics
TRPA completed regional analysis and identified priorities for area-wide infrastructure within key watersheds basin-wide to enable more efficient and effective stormwater treatment for local neighborhoods than by parcels alone. This will increase options for private property owners to treat stormwater, assist local jurisdictions to meet TMDL, and help implement EIP projects.Future planning at individual watershed scale will take a holistic approach to address natural resource issues such as soil and water conservation, invasive species, and fuels reduction. May include technical assistance to retrofit single-family property owners’ BMPs that will reduce nutrient and fine sediment to the lake

03/31/2022 11:33 AM Shay Navarro TRPA completed area-wide stormwater treatment planning basin wide and identified feasible locations to establish area-wide treatment. Pursuing funds for more refined area-wide treatment planning and implementation occurs under separate location-specific EIP projects that fall within this basin-wide initiative.
01/07/2020 5:28 PM Shay Navarro EIP Project #01.01.01.0116 - Area Wide Stormwater Infrastructure represents a basin-wide initiative.
Initial analysis by TRPA identified 18 possible Tahoe locations feasible to establish area wide treatment, 16 of which have existing treatment in place and two have proposed treatment - see detailed location GIS shapefiles for more information.
TRPA works with CSLT on an ongoing basis to facilitate private parcel participation and implementation of the CA Stateline Project Area.
Passthrough of $147,317 US EPA SNPLMA funds to NTCD will support planning and design for the Lower Kingsbury Post Office Project Area.
TRPA and partners are in the process of pursuing funding to advance planning and design for the Osgood Project Area
KGID, Douglas County and TRPA have initiated preliminary investigation for a 19th possible proposed regional treatment location off upper Kingsbury Grade along Andria and North Benjamin Drives.
01/08/2019 11:43 AM Kimberly Chevallier Planning work is ongoing for this project internally at TRPA. No planning or capital funds have been received to implement new area-wide projects as of yet.

11/15/2016 1:19 PM Jack Landy Proposed funding level is $300,000 annually for five years, which would produce two Areawide Conservation Plans/Community Watershed Strategies per year for a total of ten Plans/Strategies.
