NEPA Analysis for the project was completed in 2009. The goal of this project was to develop a proposed action that reduces threats to the water quality of Lake Tahoe associated with the Zephyr Cove Corral, bringing the site into compliance with environmental management standards.
The resulting Decision Memo allows the USFS to move forward with project implementation at this site. Proposed actions include corral facility upgrades, including storm water runoff and horse waste management BMPs, trail relocation and retrofits, management of noxious weeds, and monitoring.
